Decorating with Espresso to Make a Lasting Impression Espresso is a very popular finish in 2014 and you should continue seeing it in 2015. It’s very modern, chic, and bold. The classic blend is an espresso kitchen cabinet with white quartz tops and stainless steel appliances. You’re pulling in the simplicity of minimalism with the common black-white decorating scheme. The stainless steel incorporates a bit of industrialism, making a statement of power and functional use. Finally, the white countertop keeps everything clean, innocent, and elegant. A few color palettes that contrast espresso well are green-grays, blue-grays, light olive, and mint-green. Espresso is a very dominant color so you want something that contrasts and is almost borderline to becoming an accent color.

What Color Is Espresso

What Color is Espresso? Espresso is a color that stands between black and brown. It’s really a dark brown that is usually mistaken to be a true black. Many times furniture will be listed as “black” when it is in reality espresso. But you don’t have to fret, the difference is so difficult to notice that you can use espresso in place of black furnishings. To be quite honest, it’s difficult finding jet black finishes. More often than not, companies advertise espresso finishes as black when they’re really not. I’ll talk more about true black in a little bit.

Espresso is a very dark brown that appears to be black. It has chocolate tones and in some cases, espresso can have hints of reddish hues in good direct lighting. It gets its name from the coffee. It really does look similar to a cup of dark coffee with light creamer. Lighting will directly affect the way that espresso furniture looks. In areas like the bathroom, it will look more black than anything. If you place an espresso cabinet in the living room where it will be directly exposed to streaming sunrays, you’ll more likely have a chance of seeing the reddish tints and the brown tones manifest themselves.

Even very experienced baristas often don’t take advantage of the opportunities to improve the espresso that are available while making the shot. They lock the portafilter into group, turn on the pump or pull the lever, and pray. If the shot is roughly right, they’ll serve it and make small grinder adjustments for the next one—if it’s way off, they’ll dump it and make larger grinder adjustments. This approach requires that grind settings and machine temperatures and pressures be very close to perfect. However, if you know a few things about how espresso extracts, you can correct somewhat larger deviations from the correct levels of these variables on the fly. Moreover, however correct or incorrect the variables, you can assure that you’re getting the best espresso possible under the circumstances.

I have been coloring my hair for quite some time, I love my dark brown color but sadly as I have gotten old, I have been getting more and more gray hair. I do not like this at all so I need to color my hair to keep my rich brown color. Before I tried Schwarzkopf Keratin Color I was concerned about gray coverage, and also whether it would make my hair look flat and dull. I also had concerns about whether the expresso color would match my current color. I need not have been concerned with that since there are 17 intensive colors to match my natural hair color. This kit takes only 30 minutes to use. I love that it did not have a strong chemical scent. I was able to color my hair and go out without worrying that everyone knew I had just colored my hair. I always worry about damage to my hair, since I do color often and I am “older” and my hair is not as perky as it was 20 years ago. Keratin Color is especially formulated with Unique Collagen Care Complex and Skin Flattering Pigments to provide damaged or mature hair with intense color results. I also love that it provides 100% gray coverage while also treating and repairing highly processed, damaged hair with up to 80% less hair breakage. Other products did not cover some of my more stubborn gray hairs, and I am glad to say this was not the case using Schwarzkopf Keratin Color. My hair color looks like it did when I was a 20 year old, and best of all it looks natural!

When I signed up for this there were not a lot of color choices left so I chose the espresso black knowing that it would probably be too dark for my taste. I am a natural light brown and stay pretty close to that when I color my hair. So yes, the color is too dark for my taste but I'm not considering that in my review. The color came out a bit uneven with spots that are ink black and others where you can see a dark brown cast. It is not that noticeable unless you are really looking close. The directions were easy to follow and I did not have any problems with the process. I did not like the after color conditioner. The scent though not offensive, was too overpowering and it seemed more of a masculine smell to me. It did make my hair very shiny and soft but it was also kinda greasy and hard to style. I had to wash and condition it again in order to get it to style and not look limp. I waited a couple days to write the review and the color is not as bad as I originally thought. I don't think I would try this brand again because I just didn't like the smell and feel of the conditioner. I appreciate the opportunity to try it though!
