i’ve been using manic panic for roughly 2 years and i love it. i’ve used quite a few colors, so i’ll review each briefly! -atomic turquoise this is a very nice light-but-bright blue, i really enjoyed this color and it pairs very nicely with almost anything. it faded nicely into a powder blue. -hot hot pink i love this color, but unfortunately, it faded very fast when i used it. i had a blue/magenta ombre with hot hot pink on the ends but i eventually started dying it all blue because the pink would just fade too fast. -voodoo blue this is probably my favorite manic panic dye. i used it over very, VERY faded atomic turquoise and it was a vibrant electric blue with various shades in it like teal, darker blue, and lighter blue (but not in a messy way haha) -electric lizard (mixed the entire tub with a dollop of voodoo blue, created a VERY bright leprechaun green) i’ve never used electric lizard by itself but if you’re looking for a vibrant cool-toned green shade, i mixed the entire tub with voodoo blue until the dye itself looked like a very dark forest green. took forever to fade -rockabilly blue this shade is a nice royal blue but it seemed to fade pretty fast when i used it -enchanted forest if you’re looking for something strictly GREEN, i wouldn’t recommend this. it’s a very rich, dark teal and it looks amazing in sunlight -fuschia shock this is such a nice colorful shade. depending on how light your hair is, it may either be a bright pink or a deep maroon/magenta. when mine faded, it started turning orangey/yellow in some spots which was unflattering, but it lasts quite a while without needing to be redyed. -virgin snow let me start by saying i had never toned my hair before! this could very well be user error. anyways, i lightened my hair to about level 9 and left virgin snow on for about an hour and thirty minutes. nothing happened (again, probably user error haha)

Since I’ve started dying my hair crazy colors, my cousin recommended that I try Manic Panic. The first time I loved it, the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth time I loved it. It conditions my hair after a stripping bleach and leaves me with great color. I’ve used after midnight, electric lava, cotton candy pink, voodoo blue, purple haze, electric amethyst, virgin snow, and blue steel. Most of the brighter colors work great, though cotton candy pink faded fairly quickly and virgin snow didn’t do much. I used blue steel more recently, and it’s a great color but it didn’t take to some parts of my hair, but that’s partly my fault because there color is great for most of my head. Overall Tish and Snooky are selling a great product that comes in an array of colors you won’t find in other brands nor with nearly as good quality. Though I’ve had my mishaps with some other the lighter colors, I will always return to Manic panic because their quality compares to no one else.

In December 2014 I celebrated a decade of blue hair. The second I left school at 16, I ran to the hairdresser’s, where they, bewildered, streaked my hair with the kind of old-lady blue dye you see around the bingo table. I was puzzled, but addicted. Since then I’ve gone through turquoise, aquamarine, peacock and cerulean, and settled for the last 8 years on a stunning semi-permanent color called Blue Velvet, named after the Lynch film, which looks a bit like a royal cloak and fades to a beautiful jade green. I’ve had blue hair for virtually every milestone in my life, and most of the people who know me now have literally never seen me without it.

I dyed my hair at the end of April and it’s now mid-July. A very faint dusty blue/lavender color with a bit of pink still remains, with the bleached blonde roots sticking out the ends. Very pastel “punk rock” is what it looks like now. This is the purple you want if you don’t want to do your hair every three weeks. I have ash blonde hair, and this color has true staying power. I’m planning on doing a bleach bath to strip some of it out so I can start again. But I truly love the purple shades, so this is a keeper. I really enjoy the fading process, not patchy or strange. My hair is still pretty soft, too. Not fried, since I did the 30 volume process with the bleach kit. My hair is in pretty good condition, overall.
